Terms of service
Welcome to the GnasherShells terms of service page!
By commissioning, you acknowledge and agree to all of the following terms and conditions:
All characters to be drawn are over the legal age of 18 regardless of physical appearance, the way they act or behave, source material, lore, backstory, or the situation in which they are depicted in
The artist reserves the right to decline or ignore certain inquiries and is not obligated to respond to low quality, spammy, or belligerent requests
If you are known to go around asking for commissions and never committing to them, falsely claiming that the artist quit and ran off with your money, doing it to try and get free art or to waste the artist's time, you will be ignored
The artist may shift prices depending on the project as needed
Failing to comply will lead to the cancellation of the project regardless of the progress (if any) made
PAYMENT & FEES
Payment will only be accepted via Paypal
You will be charged in full upfront to ensure that the artist receives full payment (if you cannot pay for a full color piece just yet, you can choose to get it in flat colors and upgrade it later)
Express/rush fees will be applied for tight deadlines
Constant or excessive changes to previously agreed upon work will lead to extra fees
REFUNDS
Commissions are nonrefundable after payment has been made
If for any reason the artist cannot start or finish the commission after payment, a full refund will be issued
COMPLETION TIMES & DEADLINES
Time to complete may depend on other concurrent work or personal responsibilities
Certain commissions may take several days, weeks or even months to complete (to avoid these, you may pay an express or rush fee if you need something done within a tight time frame)
The artist reserves the right to pause or delay commissions depending on overflowing work, art block, burn out, or personal responsibilities
CLIENT OBLIGATIONS
Please have your ideas ready and clearly laid out with good reference pictures (if any)
Failing to provide certain details/clear instructions may lead to the final piece not turning out the way you envisioned it
Feel free to request updates or WIPs (works in progress) throughout the process
Please refrain from “helicoptering” (overbearingly watching over and asking for constant updates) This does not magically make the process go by faster and does little to no good in artist-client relations and will garner negative results or even lead to the artist refusing to work with you in the future
HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
Sketching stage: A rough sketch will be drawn to map out the poses or scenes. After it has been approved, a more detailed sketch will be drawn (faces, musculature, etc). Please note that you may change or edit things around freely in this stage
Coloring stage: After the sketch has been fully approved, it's time to go in and add colors and show where the shading will go. Upon approval, the final rendering/touch ups will begin
Final stage: The finalized piece will be sent out. Any last minute minor changes may be applied if needed. If not, you're all set! You will have 36 hours from then to request any major changes (extra fees will be applied of course). If you miss that window, there's no going back and the commission will be marked as 100% complete and no further edits can or will be made. The full resolution commission will be sent over email, Discord, or whatever secure site you prefer
